Dream-A New Beginning

I woke this morning thinking that I needed to find a baby sitter.  My next thought was “Am I pregnant?” In my dream, I was getting ready for the arrival of a baby.

I used dreammod.com to look up the symbols.

To dream that I am having a baby suggests that an event or a new beginning is about to be birthed.

To dream that you are pregnant symbolizes an aspect or some aspect of my personal life that is growing and developing.  Birth of a new idea, direction and goal.

I am sure that I am not pregnant.  The dream is not literal in that sense.  I do remember how I felt when I was.  Preparation and excitement for the new member of the family mixed with a bit of fear.  Hoping and praying all goes well and there are no unpleasant surprises.

Intuition Speaks 5 Signs You Are Intuitive

Not everybody is aware of their keen sense of guidance.  We all have it.  It being intuition.  Some are more aware than others.  Still, we all have it.

You’ve heard of those that are especially gifted in this area.  Their abilities leave you scratching your head in wonder.  How is it they are so connected?

Everybody is born with an internal GPS or intuition as I call it.  It’s your guidance and your birth right. For some, their intuition is a bad feeling or  as some call it a “gut feeling.”  Others have visions and still others just know.  Our intuition speaks to us in many ways.

I opened to spirit energy as I grew older, but looking back I can see that I was always guided.  I had a knack for sizing up people.  I knew when I met my husband for the first time, that I had found my match.  I’m not sure how I knew, I just knew. I never really thought about what that meant or labeled it as intuitive.  I learned growing up that such things were not allowed in our home.

I had many signs that I was intuitive over the years, but never really put it all together until much later.  You may have had signs as well. Here are a few of my favorites.

#1- I was drawn to the spirit world.  Even though growing up I didn’t hear much or didn’t know of anyone who was intuitive, I found it all to be fascinating.

#2-I had a six sense about people.  I was able to size people up pretty quickly.  That has remained constant through out my life.  Even as a small child my parents picked that up and would ask me what I thought about a certain person or situation.  They said I always go to the bottom of what was going on.

#3-Some things you just know. Don’t ask me to explain that or give you a play-by-play of what I know.  I just know.  It’s that simple.

#4-You think of someone and they call you or you run into them.  This is another sign.  This is really an everyday occurrence for some and very routine.

#5- Dreams, lots and lots of dreams is probably my favorite sign.  This is the one sign that helped me put everything together.  If you pay close enough attention to your dreams, you will learn to decipher its meaning. Your dreams are trying to tell you something.  There is a message or lesson.  Your guides may be trying to communicate with you. Write the dreams down and take time to learn their meaning.

Intuition speaks in many ways.  How does it speak to you?

Dream-Hug Your Kids Tight

I had a dream that I was on a team of people who all had guns.  It was a game of sorts, but I didn’t know exactly what the purpose was.  I didn’t want to fire my gun.  I was afraid I might hurt someone.  Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the Los Angeles Laker’s all-star, was on my team.  He is a super star shooter in basketball.  No one was killed in my dream.

This dream no doubt a reaction to what is going on Connecticut at Sandy Hook Elementary. A gunman bursts into a school and takes the lives of sweet, innocent children and their teachers.  How is it that someone does that? My dream an obvious result of what has been going on in news and just trying to process it all.

The following symbols are taken from dreammoods.com

Gun
To see a gun in your dream represents aggression, anger, and potential danger. You could be on the defensive about something.

Athlete

To see a famous athlete in your dream refers to a larger than life attitude. Consider the significance of the sport that the athlete is famous for. Famous athletes are also seen as modern-day hero archetypes who symbolize champion, courage, and self-sacrifice.

Game

To dream that you are hunting, shooting at, or killing game refers to the game of life. It also represents your ability to keep your anomalistic nature in check and in control.

The gunman, a deranged young man. Was this a game to him?

Hug your kids tight and tell them you love them.

Dreaming of a Kitchen

I had a dream that I was walking into my dad’s house. It was a different house than the one he lives in now, but the house seemed very familiar. As I opened the front door I noticed the furniture all in its place. I saw the dining table all set for dinner and I caught a glimpse of the kitchen in the back of the house. I noticed a roaster oven sitting on the counter. It reminded me of Thanksgiving. I remember thinking how nice and lovely this space was. It was an older home with lots of wood and old fashion charm. It was nothing like the modern space that my father occupied now.

I wondered whose house that this was and where were the people who lived there. I was the only person in the dream. I remind myself that dreams are symbols and rarely taken literally.

Symbols taken from dreammoods.com

Kitchen
To see a kitchen in your dream signifies your need for warmth, spiritual nourishment and healing. It may also be symbolic of the nurturing mother or the way that you are for your loved ones. Alternatively the kitchen represents a transformation. Something new or life altering is about to occur. The dream could also be telling you that if “you can’t stand the heat, then you need to get out of the kitchen”.

House
To see a house in your dream represents your own soul and self.

Oven
To see a hot oven in your dream indicates passion, loyalty, warmth, devotion, togetherness and unselfishness.

Thanksgiving
To dream about Thanksgiving represents togetherness, family reunions, festivities, and your sense of community. The dream is a reflection on your life and the connections that you have made. Alternatively, this dream may be a metaphor that you need to thank somebody. You may be indebted to someone. Consider also your own associations and traditions with Thanksgiving.

Healing Energy for Family

A few weeks ago, I dreamed of a snake.  I didn’t feel like this was a good dream.  The snake was lurking and I don’t like snakes.  I felt like it was a warning of some kind…danger.

The day that I had this dream, my sister-in-law was hospitalized and she has been sick since.  She continues to have a strange unusual infection, Strep A and has since developed a heart disorder.  It is unusual and the doctors are puzzled.  What is causing all of this non-sense?

Debbie, I am sending you healing energy and praying for a complete recovery.

Dream-I Hate Snakes

Last week, my husband and I spent an evening in Atlanta.  We had missed our flight home from Cancun.  We spent the

night in a hotel.  We woke early to catch the first flight out.

That evening, I had a dream that there was a snake roaming loose.  I don’t remember actually seeing the snake but I was aware of it.  I also knew it was a python.

I’m not going to lie.  I hate snakes.  I was a bit creeped out by the dream.  I knew that this wasn’t a good dream, but not sure of the exact meaning. The first chance I got, I looked it up.  It means “Danger“.

Another view point is taken from www.snakedreams.org

  • A snake is a symbol of the unconscious
  • Snakes or serpents indicate you’re in the process of healing and resolving issues
  • The snake is a symbol for an untamed part of yourself or an untapped resource
  • Snakes could represent your intuition or spiritual aspects of  yourself; your instinctual drive, what moves you from the depths of your  soul
  • Snakes or serpents tend to show up in dreams in times of transition and transformation

Maybe I have it all wrong.  Maybe the snake is symbolic of change. Just as the snake sheds it’s skin, so do we metophorically speaking.  Is it then a sign of personal transformation?
